There is a giant tree close to our place and according to its description right at the trunk it is 1000 year old. Well, comparing it to other 500 and 800 year old trees throughout Japan I doubt that it would be so old but surely a few hundred. It looks majestic standing next to a shrine in the middle of fields. Too bad there are cables hanging everywhere around it.
